Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy Statement
To set out the main Principles on Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking in the workplace and operations while at the same time ensure awareness of all involved parties.
Omilia acknowledges the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will ensure transparency within its organisation as well as with its suppliers. Omilia considers its exposure to modern slavery and human trafficking to be limited. However, considering its global operation, it has taken all necessary actions to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business nor the business of its suppliers. As such Omilia has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with any other entity which has been found to have involved itself with slavery and/or human trafficking. Additionally, Omilia through its own due diligence, is satisfied that there is no evidence of any act of modern-day slavery or human trafficking within its own organisation. As part of the Company’s due diligence processes, Omilia maintains an accurate supplier list including contact details. Moreover, during the supplier approval procedure, it ensures the review of the controls undertaken by the suppliers. In particular:
• Omilia will not knowingly support or deal with any business involved in slavery or human trafficking.
• In accordance with section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Omilia has contacted its suppliers to set out our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place.
• Omilia aims to discontinue business with any supplier found by the enforcement authorities to be involved in modern slavery and/or human trafficking
• Imported goods from sources outside the EU are potentially more at risk of slavery and human trafficking issues therefore the level of management control required for these sources is monitored.
At the workplace, Omilia encourages use of its whistleblowing policy to report any concerns regarding modern slavery. As such Omilia will investigate and ensure action is taken in response to any reports and any complaints made via the whistleblowing policy. At the same time all employees undergo a structured induction process, where are made aware of the standards of behaviour that it requires from them. Within this framework, Omilia provides training on awareness of modern slavery and/or human trafficking to those who hold responsibilities in finance and procurement areas. Omilia will undertake responsibility for implementing this Policy Statement by reviewing it annually and ensure relevant communication to all involved parties.
